Second one I've owned (first one was fried by lightning). Finest 2 line corded phone there is. It has all the whistles and bells you could imagine or ever want.
As I said I don't know who to blame,the manufacturer or the seller, and am sorry I lost my money. It seem that the amplifier malfunctions. Actually I don't know if it is a POOR product, or I've been cheated.I brought back the product, I live in Caracas, Venezuela. The phone never worked properly, could get no sound, I took to a specialist repair store, they refused to accept it even for revision; I was told that this is a REFURBISHED item, what I know is that I bought a new aparatus, and I got something different.
(My wife would beat me if I bought any more black phones). The Cortelco speaker phone is almost useless and the "back lit" display is barely illuminated.
If you need a 2-line phone and you don't mind black, buy the 993. The AT&T does everything right and costs 40% as much.
I just received the AT&T 993 from Amazon. The AT&T is so much better, it's amazing.
You won't be sorry. This phone is such a bargain for the price Amazon charges, I would buy three more if only the phone was available in white.
I just bought a Cortelco 2-Line WHITE phone for almost two and a half times as much.
However unlike most wireless phones, the address book functions are not intuitive or convienent to use. ATT 993 corded phone has nice features.
The data port has never worked and the loud keypad noise when dialing is annoying with no way to lower the volume. The clock runs about 10 minutes fast each day. The message light stays on even after messages have been retrieved. I purchased this phone from this site through a dealer. I would not purchase another AT&T product based on the poor purformance of this phone. It has been about four months since I began to use it. The phone is used in a professional office and many of its' features would have been helpful. The ringer has stopped working.
